Ratster Privacy and Policies
The Ratster was created by the webmaster of Spoiled Ratten Rattery
and is maintained by the webmasters of Spoiled Ratten Rattery and
Landmark Rattery, hereinafter collectively referred to as "Webmaster."
It is intended to promote rats and mice as pets, provide care
information pertaining to these animals and help individuals find
contacts for obtaining PET rats and mice. Entries in the directory are
from sites found by the Webmaster that were included because they
appear to relate to the rodent fancy and to rats and mice as pets and
from applications such as this one.
No part of the information you include in this form will be sold or
given to any individual or entity. It is used solely for the purpose of
posting to The Ratster for others to find on the internet. You will not
receive any mailings as a result of applying to be added or as a result
of being added to the directory unless the Webmaster has a specific
question about an entry. Webmaster is not responsible for any action
that arises from another individual, group or entity finding or
obtaining information contained in the directory.
Do not submit any website or contact information that pertains to
rats, mice or other rodents as feeder animals, promotes the
mistreatment of any animal or human, discourages proper care of
companion animals, provides incorrect information intended to cause
others to mistreat their animals or to provide them with less than
optimal care or information that is intended to discourage animals as
pets or companions. Do not submit any website that includes
pornography, links to pornography or any other material that could be
considered unsuitable for the general public. Webmaster reserves the
right not to add any website, individual, group or entity to the
Ratster directory for any reason at their discretion. Webmaster will
attempt to review each site included in the directory periodically to
be sure that it is suitable for all audiences, however Webmaster is not
responsible for the content of any site included in The Ratster.
Applications received with an illegal shipping method selected will
not be listed at any time. We feel this shows a willingness to break
the law by shipping illegally or at the very least a lack of research
on the part of the lister. Subsequent applications will also be denied.
Sites which list rats/mice as feeders or promotes rats/mice as
feeders will be removed until such time as the lister takes the
offending information off of the site and completes another application
for review.
Sites which state the breeder is no longer breeding or haven’t been
updated in more than a year may be removed at Ratster’s discretion as
an out of date site. No notification of removal will be sent to site
owner. Lister must complete another application for review in order to
be included again.
Sites which are found to be dead ie. errors or "no longer found"
will be removed with no notification to site owner. Lister must
complete another application for review.
Sites which are a rattery or a rattery and rescue and are soliciting
donations will not be included in the Ratster. There has been a rash of
such applications lately that appear to be scams and/or people begging
for help to start or maintain their ratteries. A rattery is not cheap
to maintain, however, it is up to the breeder to finance their
business. The Ratster will not encourage or police this practice.
Obviously, a non-rattery-owned or -run rescue would not be included in
this policy as those rescues will not have pet or breeding animals and
will not have any difficulty showing exactly where their donations are
going.
Because of the volume of applications and updates the Ratster
handles, you may or may not receive confirmation of receipt of your
application, confirmation that it has been added or denial of the
application. To find out if it has been approved, check the Ratster or
ask the Webmaster for the status on the application.
If you find that your site has been included in The Ratster and you
want it removed, want to update information for your entry, find dead
links, or have any other information about an entity included in The
Ratster that you feel should be brought to the attention of the
Webmaster, email the Webmaster at webmaster@ratster.com.
